Rosenior Claims Chelsea Already Know How to Play Against Arsenal

JAKARTA - Liam Rosenior yakin para pemain Chelsea dapat bermain bagus di pertandingan besar setelah memenangi dua trofi utama musim lalu.

Chelsea, under then-manager Enzo Maresca, were crowned UEFA Conference League champions before winning the 2025 Club World Cup last summer.

Ahead of the crucial second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, with a 2-3 deficit against leaders Arsenal in the first leg, Rosenior said his players' experience in big games would be the highlight.

"Yes, I think the players, I look at Enzo Fernandez (who) has won the World Cup as well as the team that won two trophies last year, can play in big games."

"They can play well in big games. This (against Arsenal) is obviously a big game. I'm not going to talk about what Arsenal or Mikel Arteta have or haven't done. That's not my business. What I'm worried about is the break."

"There are still three more matches in a week, we need to recover. The match will be very physically draining. My focus is to prepare the team as well as possible for that match," said Rosenior ahead of his first opportunity to lead Chelsea to a major final.

When asked if he felt reaching the Carabao Cup final and beating Mikel Arteta's Arsenal would prove he was the right man for the job at Chelsea, Rosenior said victory would be great for the club, not for himself.

"I'll be honest. All the evidence of whether I'm right for this job or not, I don't really care. I'm here to do this job."

"If we get to the final, it will be very good for Chelsea. It's not about me. I will prove in time whether I am worthy or not, but that's not my main priority," he said.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old winger Estevao missed Chelsea's win against West Ham last weekend. He flew back to his home country, Brazil, for personal reasons.

Ahead of the match against Arsenal on Wednesday, January 4, 2026, early morning WIB, Rosenior could not give certainty when he would return.

"I don't know (if he will play against Arsenal). With Este, he is a young player who comes and performs amazingly."

"He has been through a very difficult time for personal reasons and he is on leave for humanitarian reasons. I will not put pressure on him."

"It has to be right for him and he has to feel he's in the right place to perform for this team," Rosenior said.
