Thailand Masters 2026: Thalita Solo Qualified for the Main Round

JAKARTA - Single women's badminton player Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan managed to defeat her compatriot Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi to get a ticket to the main round of the 2026 BWF Super 300 Thailand Masters.

The 19-year-old badminton player won the final qualifying match with a final score of 21-19 and 21-16 at the Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, afternoon WIB.

"This is the first time I have played in the BWF Super 300. I feel tense, but I am quite excited. In terms of the atmosphere of the field, I feel it is quite different from the Super 100 level down which I have previously followed," said the athlete born in September 2007.

Thalita played a total of two matches in the qualifying round. He started his journey by defeating Clara Azurmendi from Spain to meet Dhinda, who eliminated Shreya Lele (India).

"The difference with the match this morning (against Clara Azurmendi), this time Dhinda played tough and didn't die much himself, wherever the ball went he chased after it," said Thalita.

This victory makes the Indonesian women's singles have two representatives in the main round. Thalita will accompany Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi who started the tournament not from the qualifying phase.

Indonesian women's singles actually have three representatives in the qualifying round. Another name is Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari, who immediately lost in the first round of the qualifying round against Kim Jooeun from South Korea.

Thalita is also the only one who can penetrate the main round from the five representatives who fought in the qualifying round. The other two who were eliminated were the men's singles Yohanes Saut Marcellyno and the men's doubles Ali Faathir Rayhan/Devin Artha Wahyudi.

Both of them were eliminated against the Malaysian representative. Saut lost against the third seed Kok Jing Hong, while Faathir/Devin, who were seeded first, were knocked out by Lau Yi Sheng/Lim Tze Jian.
