JAKARTA - MilkLife Soccer Challenge (MLSC) 2025-2026 Series 2 is rolling again with greater enthusiasm. This time the implementation even extends to Kalimantan by involving Banjarmasin and Samarinda.
MLSC Series 2 has rolled with Semarang and Tangerang as the opening cities. Now, a total of 12 cities including Banjarmasin and Samarinda will also enliven the KU-8, KU-10, and KU-12 girls' football tournament initiated by the Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation together with MilkLife.
Program Director MilkLife Soccer Challenge, Teddy Tjahjono, said the sustainability of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge was proof that the organizers provided a structured and tiered competition space for female footballers. He assessed that the sustainability of the tournament was an important key in coaching athletes from an early age.
"The MilkLife Soccer Challenge is designed as a long-term program. After Series 1 went well in 10 cities, we continued to Series 2 so that participants have certainty of a sustainable competition."
"This consistency is important so that athletes, parents, and schools see girls' football as a serious and sustainable coaching path," said Teddy Tjahjono in a statement at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
Teddy said that the inclusion of Samarinda and Banjarmasin was a strategic step to expand the coaching base outside Java, as well as responding to the high interest and potential of women's football in Kalimantan.
That way, he hopes the positive climate that occurred in Series 1 can continue in the upcoming series. Moreover, the former Indonesian national team coach who is now also serving as the Director of the Borneo FC Academy, Jacksen Ferreira Tiago, joined as head coach of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge with Timo Scheunemann.
"We see the positive impact of MLSC not only on the quality of players, but also on the growth of the ecosystem. More and more girls' schools and SSB are formed after MLSC is present in an area."
"This is a domino effect that we really hope for. The presence of Jacksen whose reputation is beyond doubt as a coach or player, we also hope that it will be able to stimulate the spirit and quality of participants to improve their achievements at MLSC," said Teddy.
The number of participants in the MilkLife Soccer Challenge shows a positive trend with an increase in each series. In Series 1 2024, 5,163 participants were recorded. Meanwhile, Series 2 2024 increased by 10,051 students participating.
Then, in the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Series 1 2025-2026, the participants are even higher, namely 17,492 Indonesian female footballers take part.
Entering Series 2 and reaching new areas to Kalimantan, the MilkLife Soccer Challenge 2025-2026 is expected to further strengthen the foundation of Indonesian women's football, while opening more coaching space for young talents from various regions.
"We hope that Bayan Peduli's participation in the MilkLife Soccer Challenge can encourage more and more students in Kalimantan to love and pursue football from an early age."
"From here, we are optimistic that a generation of female footballers will be born who will be able to bring the Indonesian Women's National Team to achieve success at the world level, including in the Women's World Cup," said Director of PT Bayan Resources Tbk, Merlin, who was also present at this event.
In addition to competing in the 7 vs 7 format for KU-10 and KU-12, the MilkLife Soccer Challenge 2025-2026 also re-presents the SenengSoccer Festival for KU-8, as well as the Skill Challenge which is a means of introducing and developing basic football skills from an early age.
After the two series are completed in all the host cities, the program will be closed with the MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars, which brings together the best talent in each city as a result of the curation throughout the tournament and follows intensive training at MilkLife Soccer Extra Training.
There is a difference in the format of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars 2025-2026. Previously using the 7 vs 7 format, now it is 9 vs 9.
The MilkLife Soccer Challenge All-Stars 2025-2026 is scheduled to be held in June 2026 at the Supersoccer Arena, Kudus, Central Java. They will represent their respective cities to compete for the podium.
