JAKARTA - The living legend and Arema FC Assistant Coach, Kuncoro, died after playing in the 100th Anniversary of Gajayana Stadium in Malang, East Java, Sunday afternoon.

General Manager of Arema FC Yusrinal Fitriandi said Kuncoro's departure made the people of the national football world deeply saddened.

"We are all very shocked and shocked. Cak Kun (Kuncoro's nickname) started his professional career at Gajayana Stadium. Today God called him home at the same stadium, right at the moment of the 100th anniversary of this stadium," said Yusrinal in Malang on Sunday.

According to Arema FC management, Kuncoro was suspected of having a heart attack.

The incident began when Kuncoro finished the first round match with fellow Arema legends, such as Siswantoro, Hermawan, and Doni Suherman.

At that time he walked out of the field to rest on the bench of the players at the Gajayana Stadium.

Not long after, Kuncoro collapsed and then fainted on the bench of the reserve players.

Immediately the match equipment and medical team rushed to provide first aid to Kuncoro, but the condition of the legend showed no signs of improvement.

Kuncoro was also taken to Saiful Anwar Hospital in Malang to receive intensive medical care. Fate said otherwise, the assistant coach of Arema FC was declared dead.

Yusrinal remembers Kuncoro as a figure who is highly dedicated to Arema, besides being warm, humorous, firm, and loyal friends.

Arema FC management invites all parties to pray for the deceased.

"Farewell to the legend, your loyalty is eternal. May the family left behind be given fortitude," said the club's management.
