PSSI through Executive Committee Member (Exco), Endri Erawan, revealed the names of the candidates for the Indonesian National Team coach. He gave a clue that the name that is currently being studied is not much different from the rumors that are widely circulating.

Several names such as Giovanni van Bronckhorst and John Herdman have surfaced and are considered strong candidates for the Indonesian national team coach.

"It's true that it really comes down to what I said again, before returning to the country, another name from the PSSI chairman (Erick Thohir) appeared. So, we will go on with the names."

"I don't have the right to mention names, this is to protect privacy. They also have many clubs who want them. So, we have to understand their position. This is the coach's request to keep it secret, but the name is not too far from what has been circulating," said Endri Erawan at a press conference in Jakarta quoted Thursday, December 16, 2025.

Furthermore, Endri also said that out of the five candidates studied, there were some who fell because they could not meet the requirements needed by PSSI.

"From the candidates, some dropped out because they were absent, they couldn't afford it, that was considered a qualification to be the coach of the Indonesian National Team."

"What we take into account is having a good preparation and good work program. The most important thing is to stay in Indonesia," said Endri.

Endri said the announcement of the Indonesian national team coach would be made in December 2025 or January 2026. Currently, his party is looking for the right time to hold an Exco PSSI meeting to conduct further discussions.

"After the Exco meeting with Mr. Ketum PSSI, hopefully this month or at the latest next month the coach will be announced," said Endri.
