THAILAND - Kickboxing Indonesia Manager Rosi Nurasjati received an unpleasant treatment at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games.
Rosi Nurasjati who was assigned officially by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) RI as the Manager of Indonesian Kickboxing at the 2025 SEA Games was allegedly treated like a criminal by the WAKO Asian Confederation (Asian Kickboxing Confederation) with the accusation of violating the rules because he was in the vicinity of the venue at the Lasantel Suvarnabhumi Hotel, Thailand.
On that basis, WAKO's Asian Confederation 'deported' Rosi Nurasjati. Rosi was forced to make a written statement that was signed to immediately leave Bangkok within the specified time limit.
The incident that befell Rosi involved the Thai police. Rosi even wanted to be forcibly arrested and taken to the local police station. His passport was also forcibly taken.
The reason for the local police to arrest and take the passport was because based on CCTV footage, Rosi was often around the kickboxing venue at the Lasantel Hotel.
"I was treated like a criminal. There were dozens of armed police officers carrying tracking dogs and patrol cars ready to ambush me and take me to the local police station," Rosi said in a telephone call.
"My passport was also taken by the police personnel who came to the location," he added.
The incident when Rosi was interrogated and was about to be arrested by the Thai police immediately attracted the attention and became a spectacle for local residents and people around the location.
Fortunately, there was an eye witness who was also an Indonesian citizen who reminded the local police personnel not to take Rosi's passport because he was not the perpetrator of the crime.
"I told them (Thai police) that they had no right and authority to arrest and take Bu Rosi's passport. Because he is not a criminal. Moreover, the police did not bring a letter of assignment," he said.
Thanks to the warning of the witnesses, the local police finally did not arrest and take Rosi Nurasjati's passport.
This eye witness, who did not want to be named, then reported the incident that befell Rosi Nurasjati to the Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesian Ambassador to Thailand and the former Indonesian Ambassador to Thailand, who is now serving as the Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt.
"By them, we are advised to report this incident to the Indonesian Contingent Leader at the 2025 SEA Games," he said.
Rosi said that the incident that was experienced occurred on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at around 19.00 around the Lasantel Suvarnabhumi Hotel, Thailand.
Rosi who came to the location to deliver the necessities requested by the Indonesian Kickboxing athletes (vitamins and fruit) was suddenly intercepted and was about to be ambushed by dozens of local police officers. After a scuffle with local police officers, the President and Secretary General of the WAKO Asian Confederation soon arrived at the scene.
Not only was he criminalised by local police officers, Rosi was also forced by the WAKO Asian Confederation to make a signed written statement that said he had to leave Bangkok City by no later than Sunday, December 14, 2025, with a specified time.
If Rosi refuses to make a written statement, the WAKO Asian Confederation threatens to disqualify Indonesian Kickboxing athletes from the 2025 SEA Games which have entered the quarter-final round.
Indonesian Kickboxing Coach Sadarmawati Icen Simbolon was also affected. His ID Card and passport were also forcibly taken by the WAKO Asian Confederation. In fact, the ID Card is very important for Icen to be able to accompany the athletes competing.
The new Icen ID Card will only be returned by the WAKO Asian Confederation if Rosi Nurasjati is willing to sign a statement to immediately leave Bangkok.
"Yes, it will be returned if I follow the deportation from President Wako of the Asian Confederation. I am being held hostage. If I do not return to Jakarta, Icen can no longer accompany the athletes," said Rossi.
According to Rosi, who serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Kickboxing Central Management (PP KBI), the unpleasant treatment he experienced at the 2025 SEA Games was suspected to be due to the unfounded accusations that the WAKO Asian Confederation had made against him.
Among others, Rosi was accused of violating the rules because he protested several times over the results of international kickboxing matches that Indonesian athletes participated in. One of them was at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. Then Rosi was accused of not paying membership fees to the WAKO Asian Confederation.
That is why the WAKO Asian Confederation is trying to ban Rosi Nurasjati's involvement in the 2025 SEA Games. In fact, as the Manager of Indonesian Kickboxing at the 2025 SEA Games, Rosi Nurasjati was officially recognized by the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports through the Head of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Verification Team, Prof. Yunyun Yundiana.
Even before leaving for Thailand, Prof. Yunyun Yundiana sent three important directions on November 26, 2025 to Rosi Nurasjati, among which he emphasized that there was no change in the composition of the Indonesian Kickboxing coach at the 2025 SEA Games and asked that the Indonesian Kickboxing atmosphere could be controlled well and support the achievement of the gold medal target at the 2025 SEA Games.
Rosi Nurasjati admitted that he would report directly to the Indonesian Embassy in Thailand on Sunday, December 14, 2025, for the unpleasant treatment he experienced at the 2025 SEA Games.
It is not yet known what the actions and attitudes of the PP KBI, the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI/NOC) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia are related to the unpleasant treatment experienced by Rosi Nurasjati as Manager and Sadarmawati Icen Simbolon as Coach of the Indonesian SEA Games 2025 Kickboxing Team.
"NOC from the beginning also did not care. In fact, I have sent a copy of my problem to the NOC. Because I have predicted that there will be problems during the 2025 SEA Games," said Rosi.
