JAKARTA - The Indonesian men's handball team opened the opportunity to advance to the semifinals of the 2025 Thailand SEA Games after defeating the Philippines with a narrow score of 27-26 in the continuation of the match in Chonburi, Saturday.

However, Indonesia has also suffered two defeats, namely from Singapore (19-26) and Thailand (22-34).

The positive result from the match against the Philippines puts the Indonesian men's team in third place in the provisional standings for Handball, which is dominated by Thailand (eight points, four matches), followed by Vietnam (six points, four matches) in second place.

Below Indonesia are Singapore (four points), the Philippines (two points) and Malaysia (zero points).

Indonesia will advance to the semifinals if they manage to maintain the top four in the standings.

The last match of the preliminary round will take place on Sunday, December 14, in the Final, where Indonesia will face Vietnam.
