JAKARTA - Justin Hubner was sentenced to a three-match suspension due to his horror tackle in the match against Ajax Amsterdam. The moment occurred in the Eredivisie continued match on Sunday, December 7, 2025.

The news of the suspension handed down for Hubner was announced by the club, Fortuna Sittard, on official Instagram. The decision on the sentence was filed by the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) and accepted gracefully by the club.

"Fortuna Sittard has received an official letter from KNVB for Justin Hubner, namely a three-match suspension, one of which is conditional with one year probation."

"The club has informed KNVB that we agree with this sentence," the club's official statement on Instagram was quoted as saying Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

Previously, it was known that in the match against Ajax in the 15th week of the Eredivisie, Justin Hubner started the match from the bench.

The Indonesian national team defender was actually only played at the beginning of the second half when the position was still 1-1. However, just eight minutes into appearance, Hubner got a red card after picking up Bounida from behind with both legs.

The red card guarantee clearly tarnished coach Danny Buijs who had given confidence. Hubner's actions were also considered dangerous and actually harmed his team.

The red card is also the first time Hubner has received since joining Fortuna Sittard in 2025. The 22-year-old defender has often played as a substitute in his 10 appearances at the Eredivisie this season.
