SEA Games 2025 Badminton Results: Indonesian Women's Team Qualifies For Final

JAKARTA The Indonesian women's badminton team managed to secure tickets for the 2025 SEA Games final round after securing a dramatic 3-2 victory against Malaysia at Thamasat Rangsit Gym 4 on Monday, December 8, 2025.

Putri Kusuma Wardani, who opened Indonesia's struggle, appeared strong against Karupthevan Letshaana in the first match. He was dominant in the first and second games so that he managed to close the match with a landslide score of 21-9 and 21-10.

The latest victory made Putri sharpen the winning record against Karupahthevan to 4-0. The previous three victories occurred in the 2019 Malaysia International Series, Indonesia Masters 2024, and the 2024 Badminton Asia Team Championships.

Malaysia then managed to equalize the score after the Australian Open 2025 champion pair, Rachel Alllessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, suffered a defeat against women's doubles Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan.

On paper, Rachel/Febi who are not seeded to win, can put up a fierce fight in the three games 14-21, 21-17, and 16-21 matches to the pair who are currently ranked second in the world.

Indonesia lost points again in the next match played by Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. The second women's singles came down against Wong Ling Ching and lost three games 20-22, 21-15, and 16-21.

The women's doubles Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari then managed to equalize the score to 2-2 when they played in the fourth party. They won two games against Go Pei Kee/Toh Ee Wei two sets 21-10 and 21-9.

Indonesia's victory was then determined by the women's singles Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari. He confirmed the final ticket for the team after defeating Siti Zulaikha in a two-game straight match 21-18 and 21-16.

In the final round, the Indonesian women's team will face Thailand. The host country first confirmed the ticket to the final party after locking the victory convincingly 3-0 against Singapore.
