Donald Trump First Recipient Of The FIFA Peace Prize Award

JAKARTA - The President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, stole the attention of the world of football by receiving the first peace award from FIFA, called the FIFA Peace Prize.

This award was handed over directly by FIFA President Gianni Infantino to Trump at the 2026 World Cup draw on stage John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, DC, Friday local time or Saturday morning WIB.

In an event that was broadcast live on FIFA's official YouTube channel, it was stated the reason for giving the trophy.

This inaugural award is awarded to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, for his support for ceasefire efforts in various parts of the world, which helped realize global peace," the video said.

After the video was played, Trump went up to the stage to receive a world ball trophy and a gold medal which he then tied himself around his neck.

This is one of the biggest honors of my life. We have stopped many wars even before the war started in some places," Trump said after receiving the award.

Furthermore, Trump also praised the cooperation with Canada and Mexico as co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup.

I've known Gianni (Infantino) for a long time. The sales of World Cup tickets this time are amazing. You will see the most spectacular tournament ever. Our collaboration with Canada and Mexico is very close and friendly.

The world is now a better place. A year ago the United States was not in this position, but now we are the 'hotest' country in the world!'

The FIFA Peace Prize award is the first to be awarded in FIFA history, making Donald Trump the first recipient and adding to the long list of international recognitions he has received during his tenure.
