The U-23 Indonesian National Team Squad Is Complete, Ready To Combat The 2025 SEA Games

The U-23 Indonesian national team is ready to fight at the 2025 SEA Games (doc. Indonesian national team).

JAKARTA The Indonesian U-23 National Team (Timnas) confirmed that they were ready to face the 2025 SEA Games soccer sport in Thailand after the squad was complete.

Currently, Garuda Muda's complete strength is 23 players after Rifqi Ray Farandi from Persik Kediri who replaced Marselino Ferdinand joined the team in the White Elephant Country.

The 21-year-old player could not strengthen Garuda Muda because he was still injured by a hamstring, so it took time to recover.

"As of today, our squad is complete, 23 players are in accordance with regulations," said Indra Sjafri as the coach in a statement received by the media.

The U-23 Indonesian national team is currently still in a training camp and will move toction Mai on December 6, 2025. They then underwent their first match against the Philippines on December 8, 2025.

Indonesia U-23 joins Group C with Myanmar and the Philippines. Initially, Garuda Muda was scheduled to appear in three group stage matches, including against Singapore on December 5, 2025.

However, after Cambodia decided to withdraw from the tournament, Singapore was transferred to Group A and made Indonesia now only undergo two matches in the preliminary round.

"This is quite positive for us, including the change in the schedule for the first match from 5 to 8 (December 2025). This change gives us better preparation space," said Indra.

The inaugural match between Indonesia U-23 and the Philippines will take place on December 8, 2025 at the 700th Anniversary Stadium, telephone Mai.

Indonesia is the defending champion in the biennial event. Previously in the 2023 edition in Cambodia, Garuda Muda received a gold medal after beating Thailand in the final round.
