Thiago Silva's Son Signs Professional Contract With Chelsea

Thiago Silva's son, Isago Silva, signed a professional contract with Chelsea (Instagram/@isago.silva).

JAKARTA - The son of former Chelsea captain and Brazil National Team Thiago Silva, Isago Silva, has signed his first professional contract with the Blues.

The 17-year-old was promoted to the Chelsea U-18 squad in the summer.

Isago and his younger brother, Iago, joined Chelsea's youth academy when their father moved to Stamford Bridge in August 2020 from Paris Saint-Germain.

In a statement, Chelsea said that Isago had developed into a versatile and reliable defender and was comfortable playing at left-back and center-back.

"Proud to sign my first professional contract with Chelsea. Want more," wrote Isago, who was previously under contract with an academy player, on Instagram.

He has not made his debut with senior Chelsea, but has the opportunity to appear for the Blues in the Champions League. The 17-year-old is on Chelsea B's cast list and will be able to be called up for Chelsea's remaining matches in the league phase.

Thiago Silva, 41, spent four years at Chelsea and won the Champions League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup (UEFA Super Cup) before rejoining Brazilian club Fluminense, in 2024. He made 113 appearances for Brazil.

Thiago Silva's wife, Isabella, congratulated Isago on the start of a new chapter in his career.

"Today my heart is racing faster. Seeing Isago sign a professional contract with Chelsea like seeing the legacy of football we get a new chapter."

"We are proud of our family, but especially proud of him! This moment is completely yours, son," said Thiago Silva's wife.
