Not Meeting With The Indonesian National Team, East Kapadze Officially Becomes The Coach Of The Uzbekistan Club Navibaor FK

Timur Kapadze officially became the coach of the FK Navbahor (Instagram/@fcnavbahor_).

East Kapadze, which has recently been rumored to be a candidate for coach for the Indonesian national team, has finally made a choice. Instead of getting closer to the country, he officially coached the Uzbekistan club, the FK Navy, on Monday, December 1, 2025.

The news about the closeness of Kapadze Kavbahor FK was announced by the club through their official website and Instagram.

"Navbahor football club today officially introduced Timur Kapadze as the new head coach."

"The experienced coach has discussed all matters related to the club's management and reached a full agreement regarding the team's plans and targets going forward. Both parties have signed a contract," the club said in a statement quoted on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

In the club's statement, the reason for choosing Kapadze as a new coach was explained. The reason is, this figure is one of the most known figures in Uzbekistan football.

"Throughout his coaching career, he has led various teams from the young age level to the senior national team successfully. Under his direction, these teams achieved great results in the international arena."

"Nalibahor management believes that Kapadze's modern experience, professional views, and approach to football will play an important role in realizing the targets that have been set by the club," continued the Navbahor statement.

In the 2025 season, Navbahor ended the Uzbekistan League by occupying seventh place. They collected a total of 40 points, 20 points adrift of the Neftchi Ferrgana winning team.

Kapadze has a fragrant name in Uzbekistan football. He is the coach of the Uzbekistan U-23 national team and leads the team at the 2024 Olympics.

He has also handled the Uzbekistan national team since January 2025. Under the Kapadze tactic, the Uzbekistan national team managed to qualify for the World Cup finals for the first time.

Kapadze then decided to resign from his post as coach of the Uzbekistan national team in November 2025, after the Uzbekistan Football Federation (UFA) appointed former Italian national team defender Fabio Cannavaro to handle the team at the 2026 World Cup.
