Coach Prepares Dhinda To Be Gregoria And Putri's Companion

JAKARTA The women's singles coach Imam Tohari will prepare Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi to rise to the level in the coming year in order to accompany Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Putri Kusuma Wardani in various major tournaments.

Imam said that it is time for the Balinese-born badminton players to be sent to Super 300 and 500 BWF level tournaments in the tour calendar so that the women's singles regeneration can run.

"So that as soon as possible someone can accompany Putri (Kusuma Wardani) and Gregoria (Mariska Tunjung)," said Imam at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center.

Dhinda made an interesting journey at the end of this year's calendar while playing at the Korea Masters and the Japan 2025 Kumamoto Masters. In a row he stepped on the semifinals and the second half.

When descending at the Korea Masters level BWF Super 300, Dhina's journey stuck in the top four after losing against Chiu Pin-Chian (China Taipei). While in Kumamoto, he lost against Asuka Takahashi (Japan).

Imam said that it was time for Dhinda to rise to a higher level because her potential was very supportive, especially last year she won the BWF Super 100 Indonesia Masters II tournament in Surabaya.

"So, like it or not, next year, especially 2026, if it can appear at the levels of 300 and 500. I hope he knows more about what his needs are, what to do to play at the levels of 300 and 500," he said.

So far Gregoria and Putri are still the sole pillars of Indonesian women in various important tournaments. Previously there was the name Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, but had not fully recovered from injury.

Gregoria is also still not in the best form so far. The owner of the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics is still being disturbed by recent health problems.
