Australian Open 2025: Jafar/Felisha Comeback Beat Danish Representatives

Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu went through a dramatic match to the semifinals of the Australian Open 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu made an interesting comeback to get rid of Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Boje and the round reached the semifinals of the Australian Open 2025.

The second seed lost the first game before rising and secured victory over fifth seed from Denmark with a final score of 17-21, 21-14, and 21-13 with a duration of 78 minutes on Friday, November 21, 2025.

"We are not too satisfied with our performances, but earlier we were able to overcome the opponent's attack, communication went well, consistently, and did not give up on any conditions," Fekha said after the match.

Jafar/Felisha are the last representatives of Indonesia to confirm tickets for the semifinals today. Overall, there are seven Red-White representatives who have stepped on the semifinals of this Super 500 event.

This is Jafar/Felisha's first semifinal since the China Open 2025 last July. Seven tournaments after China, their furthest journey is the quarter-finals at the Hylo Open 2025.

In the semifinals, Saturday, November 22, 2025, Jafar/Felisha will meet Thailand's representative, Rutanapak Oupthong/Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat, who eliminated their compatriot, Phuwanat Horbanluekit/Benyapa Aimsaard.

The match against the third seed was crucial for Jafar/Felisha. If they lose then the opportunity to play in the BWF World Tour Finals next month will float.

"After this, we want to recover first, want to fit again for tomorrow. (Tomorrow is a match) determine who will go to the World Tour Finals, us or the Thai pair," said Jafar.

This is the second consecutive clash of Jafar/Felisha against Rutanapak Oupthong/Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat. Previously, they lost against the pair in the quarter-finals of the Hylo Open 2025.

Six other Indonesian representatives who participated in securing semifinal tickets at the 2025 Australian Open consisted of three men's doubles, two women's doubles, and one women's singles.

The ticket men's doubles were obtained by Fajar Alfian/ Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, and Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin. This automatically ensures one final ticket for Indonesia.

The other three tickets were obtained by Putri Kusuma Wardani and women's doubles Rachel Alllessya Rose Febi Setianingrum and Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari.
