Australian Open 2025: 9 Indonesian Representatives To Quarter Finals

JAKARTA Indonesia placed as many as nine representatives in the last eight or quarter-finals of the Australian Open 2025, two of whom from women's doubles immediately faced each other.

The second round of the BWF Super 500 level event was completed on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The number of Indonesian representatives who are safe above is the majority of the total 11 representatives who participated in the fight today.

Two Indonesian representatives who were detained in the second round were mixed doubles Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil and women's doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Amalia Cahya Pratiwi.

The remaining representatives who survived consisted of one men's singles, one women's singles, three men's doubles, three women's doubles, and one mixed double.

In the men's singles and women's singles sectors that survive are Alwi Farhan and Putri Kusuma Wardani, who will both meet representatives of China Taipei in the next stage. Alwi was challenged by Chou Tien Chen, while Putri met Chen Su Yu.

From the men's doubles number, the three representatives who passed were Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, and Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin.

Fajar/Fikri got a tough test against the first seed Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shett, Sabar/Reza met Kakerum Kumagai/Hiroki Nishi, and Raymond/Nikolaus will meet third seed Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee.

Furthermore, in the women's doubles, three representatives who broke into the quarter-finals were Rachel Alllessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, and Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Maya Trias Puspitasari.

The two couples who were confirmed to meet immediately were Rachel Alllessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum and Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti. This automatically makes Indonesia have one semifinal ticket.

Meanwhile, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma / Meilysa Trias Puspitasari faced Japan's representative, Rui Hirokami / Sayaka Hobara.

From mixed doubles, the only ticket was obtained by the Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha couple, Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu. The second seeded pair will meet Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Boje.
