Alexander-Arnold: Speech At Anfield Will Not Change Love For Liverpool

JAKARTA - Trent Alexander-Arnold said he would always love Liverpool, whatever his remarks at Anfield on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, early morning WIB, when Real Madrid came to visit.

The 27-year-old will likely be included in the Real Madrid squad for the Champions League match after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The draw gave Alexander-Arnold the opportunity to immediately return to his boyhood club after a long transfer battle, with the right-back ridiculed by several Liverpool supporters after being announced to be leaving the club.

"When the draw was announced, I think everyone already knew this was going to happen, this was destined for that game."

"Obviously they are the top team. So, I know one day I will return there or play against Liverpool."

"It's going to happen so fast. Mixed feelings. I think it's going to be a very, very difficult game, but I'm looking forward to it," Alexander-Arnold said on Prime Video Sport.

Alexander-Arnold said he would not celebrate if he scored. Regarding the welcome he hopes from the supporters of the hosts, the defender doesn't want to worry.

"After all, my welcome is the decision of the fans. I will always love this club, I will always be a fan of this club."

"I will always be grateful for the opportunities and the things we have accomplished together. I will always remember all that."

"Whatever happens, my feelings for Liverpool will not change. I have memories there that I will remember for the rest of my life."

"After all I was accepted, it won't change," said the right-back again.

Meanwhile, moving to Real Madrid allowed Alexander-Arnold to join his England team-mate Jude Bellingham, who he admitted played a major role in luring him to the Bernabeu.

"There is a lot of speculation, about 'agent Jude'. What's more, in his first season (at Real Madrid), we met at the England training camp and everyone wanted to know what it was like behind the scenes."

"He said it was amazing. He's never seen anything like it. The spirit of the whole club to win and expectations to win."

"He really praised the club. I've decided in the end, I need a change. I want a new challenge on and off the pitch," Alexander-Arnold said.
