Vinicius Admits He Doesn't Mean To Allude To The Commotion At El Clasico

Vinicius Junior clarified the commotion at El Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona (Instagram/@realmadrid).

JAKARTA - Vinicius Junior said Real Madrid players did not intend to offend anyone in the clashes on the ground that tarnished the end of El Clasico's 2-1 victory over Barcelona on Sunday, October 26, 2025, while confirming that he had to defend the team.

The striker was replaced in the 72nd minute of the game at the Santiago Bernabeu - as Real Madrid took a 2-1 lead - and reacted angrily, questioning coach Xabi Alonso's decision before heading for the tunnel.

However, the Brazilian returned to the bench to participate in the commotion between the two teams during the long whistle, trying to confront Lamine Yamal and finally receiving a yellow card.

"Messages for all Madridista, especially those who come to Bernabeu and support us. El Clasico is like that. There are a lot of things that happen on and off the pitch."

"We try to maintain a balance, but it's not always possible. We don't want to offend anyone, neither Barcelona players nor supporters."

"We know that when we step onto the pitch, we have to defend our team, and that's what happened today," Vinicius said at Real Madrid TV.

Five players received yellow cards after a fight at the end of the game, while Real Madrid substitute Andriy Lunin was sent off.

Coach Alonso tried to shrink Vinicius' reaction when he was replaced and the scenes after the final whistle sounded.

"I focus on many positive things in the match and positive things from Vini. Of course we will talk about (the reaction)."

"I interpret it naturally (the clashes), we don't need to exaggerate too much. That was the tension at that time, for them and us. Fights like this always happen," Alonso said at his press conference.

Meanwhile, preparations for El Clasico are already hot. Comments from Yamal who said Real Madrid likes to rob and complain that it makes the atmosphere tense.
