JAKARTA - Arsenal are still exploring various plans to expand and renovate the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners started working more than a year ago by discussing possible ways to update the stadium, given that next summer will mark the stadium's first 20th anniversary of the stadium's first match.

In an exclusive interview with ESPN in July 2025, Arsenal's Board of Directors, Josh Kroenke, said it was too early to discuss the matter.

"It's too early to discuss the plan in-depth, but internal discussions about (the stadium) are starting to happen. This renovation is not easy, but we see the potential," said Kroenke.

Furthermore, ESPN sources said that the discussion continued with a large number of options being studied, ranging from smaller increases to significant expansions that could add thousands of seats to the current 60,700 capacity.

No final decision has yet been made and discussions are still in the assessment stage.

Significant renovations will be complicated considering the stadium is located on an area of 17 hectares and is relatively narrow, with the railway line operating near the Emirates Stadium and restrictions on building construction imposed by the Islington Regional Council.

Any increase in capacity will most likely achieve two goals, namely helping to increase commercial revenue and providing more seats at standard prices to tackle seasonal ticket waiting lists that currently reach more than 100,000 people.
