IPB Half Marathon 2025 Again Held, 4,000 Participants Ready To Run And Plant Trees

JAKARTA IPB University together with the IPB Alumni Association (HA IPB) held a press conference to introduce the 2025 Half Marathon IPB which will take place on November 16, 2025 in the IPB Dramaga campus area, Bogor.

Entering the fourth year of the event, this annual running event carries the theme Inspiring Run for The Earth which affirms IPB's commitment to present sports activities that are not only healthy, but also make a real contribution to environmental sustainability.

The chairman of the DPP IPB Alumni Association, Walneg S. Jas, explained that the enthusiasm of this year's participants was extraordinary.

"This event has entered its fourth year. Every year there are always more participants and increases in terms of quality and quantity."

"What's interesting is that this year's route has an elevation of up to 450 meters which provides its own challenges for runners," said Walneg.

A total of 4,000 participants will take part in three competition categories, namely 5K, 10K, and 21K, all of which will take place in the green area of IPB University.

The participant tickets even sold out in just one day after registration opened. This indicates the high public interest in the event that has become an icon of green sports in Bogor.

As part of the environmental campaign, each participant will contribute to the tree planting movement. The committee will distribute 3,000 plant seeds to participants.

Through this small step, the committee hopes that the spirit of protecting the earth can continue to grow together with the spirit of sports.

In addition, the Chief Executive, Afrizal, explained that the 2025 Half Marathon IPB also received broad support from various running communities in Bogor and outside Bogor, making this event a symbol of positive collaboration between academics, alumni, and the community.

"Through Inspiring Run for The Earth, we want to show that running can be a social and environmental movement. Not only healthy the body, but also growing concern for the earth," he said.

The 2025 Half Marathon IPB is expected to be a momentum to strengthen the synergy between the world of education, the sports community, and environmental conservation movements towards a greener and more sustainable future.
