Japan 2025 MotoGP Qualification Results: Francesco Bagnaia Lock Pole

JAKARTA Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia managed to build a lap record in the 2025 Japan Grand Prix MotoGP qualifying session to secure the pole position.

Ducati Lenovo Team's rider made sure he was the fastest by scoring a time of one minute 42.911 seconds which is a record new lap of all time on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

Pecco managed to arrest Joan Mir (Honda HRC Castrol) with a tight gap of 0.092 seconds. The leader of the standings Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) completed the front row in third place.

Pedro Acosta only needs five laps to secure fourth place. He is in front of French racer Fabio Quartararo who rides Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team.

Following that, Franco Morbidelli was in sixth position. This Italian racer was followed by compatriot Luca Marini (Honda HRC Castrol) and Alex Marquez who lived eighth.

The two riders who managed to complete the top ten were Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) and Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse MotoGP Team).

The next race in Japan will be with the Sprint Race on Saturday, September 27, 2025 this afternoon. Marc Marquez needs to win here and the world title will automatically get closer.

Marquez currently sits at the top of the standings with a collection of 512 points or 182 ahead of his younger brother Alex Marquez in second place.

Thus, Marquez just needs to widen the advantage to 185 points to ensure the title of juar. To get that, he just needs to win Sprint and finish better than his younger brother in the main race tomorrow.
