China Masters 2025: Lanny/Amallia Silenced First Seed

Lanny Tria Mayasari/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi lifted the suitcase in the first round of the 2025 China Masters (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The women's doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi went home early in the first round of the 2025 China Masters, losing to the first seed host Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning.

Lanny/Amallia could not put up any resistance at all and had to give up two straight games 11-21 and 16-21 at Shenzhen Arena, China, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

This is Lanny/Amallia's second appearance since it was overhauled after they made their debut as a couple at the Hong Kong Open 2025 last week. At that time, they ran aground in the second half.

Lanny said that their game pattern and rotation are now much better even though they went home early in the first round of the BWF Super 750 level event.

"I feel that in this match even though the results lost, rotationally it was better than the 2025 Hong Kong Open," he said after the match as received in a statement from PBSI Public Relations.

In this latest match, Lanny/Amallia did not have the opportunity to take the lead against their opponents, both in the first and second games.

In the first game they could only equalize the score 1-1 and continue to lag behind after. In the second game, they fell behind from start to finish.

"In the future, we want to continue to improve the rotation of the game and the connection of the punches. Hopefully in the next tournament we can be much more combined," said Amalia.

Lanny/Amallia are the second representatives of Indonesia to be eliminated from the 2025 China Masters, following in the footsteps of the men's doubles Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.
