Marc Marquez's Scenario Wins MotoGP Motogi 2025

JAKARTA Marc Marquez only needs to lead three points from his younger brother, Alex Marquez, in the MotoGP MotoGP 2025 race to ensure the world title this season.

The 17th series race in Motegi will take place at the Motegi Mobility Resort Circuit on 26-28 September 2025. Marquez already has a match point to ensure the title of the champion there.

Marquez has just secured the latest victory at the 2025 San Marino MotoGP last weekend after failing to secure points in the Sprint Race session due to falling and failing to finish.

This victory made Marquez now collect 512 points. This number managed to break the record points in one season of the most prestigious motorcycle race.

He is 182 points ahead of his younger brother Alex Marquez who is in second place in the standings. Thus, Marquez needs to increase his advantage to 185 points over Alex when he leaves Motegi to become world champion.

Marquez could only confirm the world title in the main race which was held on Sunday. He has not been able to become a champion even though he climbed the highest podium in the Sprint Race which was held the day before.

If Marquez can win in the Sprint Race and Alex runner-up, Marquez will automatically widen the distance of points to 185. Thus, he just needs to finish better than his younger brother in the main race.

This year's world title will be Marquez's seventh trophy in his career or first after 2019. He suffered a series of long injuries after the 2019 season and then left Honda to join Ducati.

Being able to win seven titles in MotoGP automatically makes Marquez match the record of his rival Valentino Rossi who has decided to retire. Both have one title adrift of Italian legend Giacomo Agostini.
