Defeat Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford's Competing Record Remains Smooth

JAKARTA - Boxer Terence Crawford won the super middleweight world title (76.2 kg) after winning an absolute number victory over Saul "Canelo" Alvarez at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, United States, Sunday WIB.

Crawford won the undisputed world champion previously held by Canelo after the three judges gave numbers 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113.

At the start of the match, Crawford appeared aggressive in throwing the certificates to dismantle Canelo's defense. Intensive attacks continued to force Canelo to last more in the first two rounds.

Canelo answered by occasionally throwing punches but had no significant impact until the two exchanged punches in the third round. Canelo tried to stop Crawford's dominance through a hut into Crawford's body in the fifth round.

In the next rounds, the two boxers continued to exchange attacks but did not score a momentum that changed the course of the fight. Canelo struggled to overcome Crawford's hitting strategy while keeping his distance.

In the ninth round, the two boxers collided in close proximity, but the referee had stopped the fight because Canelo's head hit Crawford in the face.

The fierce battle continued in the 10th round when Canelo brought the game close and managed to put a crushing blow at Crawford who could still dodge after taking a hit.

Crawford also responded with several punches that hit the target when he dismantled Canelo's defense.

In the last round, Canelo tried to gain momentum by continuing to hunt down Crawford who was still agile towards the end of the match.

Crawford's agile move tactics made it difficult for Canelo to release a crushing blow. In contrast, Crawford managed to score several punches before the referee ended the fight.

With that victory, Crawford became the new super World Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight champion, World Boxing Association (WBA), Internstional Boxing Federation (IBF), and International Boxing Organization (IBO).

The 37-year-old American boxer kept a record unbeaten with 42 wins including 31 wins achieved by knockout (KO).
