Carl Corpus And Liong Santoso Lead The First Round Of Golf Pro-Am 2025

JAKARTA The professional golfer Carl Jano Corpus, who is paired with Indonesian amateur Liong Santoso, temporarily topped the team (pro-am) for the first round of the golf event The Indonesia Pro-Am presented by Combiphar & Nomura.

The first round of the prestigious golf event in Indonesia took place on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. A total of 50 teams (1 professional and 1 amateur) fought in two fields of the Mount Geulis Country Club (West & East Course).

Carl Jano Corpus of the Philippines with Liong Santoso sitting at the top with a record of 15-by-par. The advantage of three punches puts them ahead of Weerawish Narkprachar and Rizki Charil Hidayat (am.), the couple Natipong Srithong/Mohamad Rizky (am.), as well as Shahriffuddin Ariffin and Sholihuddin (am.) who are both in second place with 12-below-par.

On the other hand, Weerawish Narkprachar strolled alone on the top board towards the end of the first round of the individual category. The golfer from Thailand, who only assumed professional status in 2022, scored 63 (8-bottom-par).

Weerawish played brilliantly in the first round without etching a single bobbey at West Course. The result left Weerawish in the lead with a single advantage.

"Driving me today is very accurate. I also try to keep the ball down on the fairway, then to the green, so I can put it."

The closest threat to Weerawish came from Naoki Sekito (Japan) and Carl Jano Corpus, who were both left behind by one blow. Naoki, who won twice the ADT tournament on Mount Geulis (2019 and 2022), scored 64 (7-under-par) equal to Carl.

These results made Naoku and Carl perched in second place. They were followed by four other golfers who were in fourth place with a score of 65 (6-par).

Meanwhile, two Indonesian golfers, Jonathan Wijono and Alfred Sitohang, gave hope for the hosts to compete with elite golfers at the top of The Indonesia Pro-Am presented by Combiphar & Nomura.

The two mainstays of the hosts both recorded a score of 66 (5-par). The record put Jonathan and Alfred in T8 position along with six other golfers.

Alfred said that his game today was quite solid, assisted by many puttings entering. He admitted that ups and downs were indeed felt in this first round, especially the first three holes he was still 1-over.

"When I could get five beers in a row, it changed my game today. The key to my game today is in the striking ball."

"Off the tease (the first shot from Tee) is very solid. My driver's blow is very straight. Tomorrow I will apply the same game plan," said Alfred.
