Marc Marquez Optimistic To Become MotoGP World Champion 2025

JAKARTA Leader of the standings Marc Marquez is increasingly optimistic about winning competition and leaving to become the 2025 MotoGP world champion after appearing dominant so far.

The rider nicknamed The Baby Alien currently sits at the top of the standings with a collection of 455 points or a lead of 175 points from his younger brother Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing) in second place.

Alex was Marquez's main rival when he started his first season at the Ducati Factory. The brothers finished first and second at all Grand Prix, except for one in six opening races this year.

However, in some of the latest Grand Prixs, Marquez faced far more diverse opponents, including Marco Bezzecchi, Pedrodeca, Fabio di Giannantonio, and Fermin Aldeguer.

Marquez insists that he doesn't care at all who the opponent will interfere with his journey in the hunt for the title. He is optimistic that he can fight them and become a champion at the end of the season.

"I don't care (who is my rival). In the first half of the season, I fought with Alex. We were always in first place, secondly, with some mistakes that made us lose a lot of points," Marquez said as quoted by Crash.

The 2025 MotoGP race leaves eight draws. With a big advantage at the top of the standings, Marquez's chances of locking up this prestigious race title are getting closer.

The scenario is that the 32-year-old racer only needs to win in the Sprint Race and the main race of Catalunya and San Marino while hoping that his younger brother will only get a maximum of 27 points each in the two races.

Marquez said that he still refused to take the risk with the title in sight. He emphasized that he only needed to play safe to become a champion.

"With this (point) advantage, I'm just trying to do my best every weekend and it doesn't matter if I fight back at Giannantonio, KTM or Aprilia, like in the last race," he said.

The next race will take place this weekend in Catalunya. Marquez is most likely back to dominate the race to strengthen his lead.
