Oleksandr Usyk Allegedly Just Made Up About Injury

Oleksandr Usyk was accused of making false excuses to extend mandatory fighting negotiations against Joseph Parker (Instagram/@usykaa).

JAKARTA Oleksandr Usyk is allegedly just making up for injury problems which are his pretext of requesting an extension of the negotiation time for the mandatory duel against Joseph Parker.

The speculation came after footage appeared on social media showing the Ukrainian boxer dancing in a music concert.

The footage is what makes Parker's promoter, David airing, wonder. He said that if he was seriously injured then Usyk shouldn't be doing risky activities.

"I haven't seen any medical evidence yet, but you may think that serious injuries will prevent such activity," saidTEN's quoted by Sky Sport.

WBO immediately encouraged Usyk to immediately undergo a mandatory WBO heavyweight match against Parker after he became world champion for the second time thanks to a win against Daniel Dubois last month at Wembley Stadium.

He was given 30 days starting July 24, 2025, but negotiations have not been carried out until now. Usyk even asked the WBO to extend the deadline on the pretext that he was still injured.

"As far as I know, everything is still the same as before. In boxing, nothing surprised me", saidTEN.

Parker is a mandatory opponent for Usyk for the WBO heavyweight belt. However, the 38-year-old fighter was able to empty the belt and Parker automatically became world champion.

The New Zealand fighter had the opportunity to fight Usyk after winning over Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, and Martin Bakole.

Usyk is the undisputed world heavyweight champion twice. Before winning over Dubois, he won that status for the first time in a win against Tyson Fury last year.
