Grimsby Vs Man United: Mainoo And Onana Ready To Get Play Minutes

JAKARTA - Kobbie Mainoo and Andre Onana will have the opportunity to take place in Manchester United's first team in the Carabao Cup Second Round match against Grimsby Town, Thursday, August 28, 2025, early morning WIB.

"It's a normal thing to happen in other clubs. We're not ready to play in Europe this season -- what's my feeling, to have a strong match in Europe and play in the Premier League."

"However, we need time to develop as a team. They (players) need to fight for a place, then everything can change."

"Sometimes one player plays, at a time other players will play. We have trophies, so there will be a lot of games for everyone."

"We need time to build the foundation and then in the future, to move forward. We will reach a moment where we need European tournaments so that everyone can play," Amorim said at ESPN.

The Danish striker, Rasmus Hojlund, who is not in the squad for the match against Arsenal and Fulham, is expected not to play against Grimsby.

You see, negotiations are ongoing with Napoli regarding his move to the Serie A club. Amorim also confirmed that defender Noussair Mazraoui, who has been sidelined due to injury since pre-season, will most likely not play against Grimsby or Burnley in the Premier League match on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Old Trafford.

"Maybe he'll be back next week, we'll see, but he's close. We just finished some training with him to make sure he won't have any more problems," Amorim said.
