Arne Slot Affirms Liverpool Are Ready To Defend The League Title Even Though It's More Difficult

JAKARTA - Liverpool manager Arne Slot said winning the Premier League this season would be more difficult than ever. However, he feels his team is definitely ready to start efforts to defend their title.

The Reds won the league with a difference of 10 points last season, ensuring the title with four games remaining.

Despite the busy summer transfer market at Anfield -- who have seen Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Caoimhin Kel leave his neck, including the arrival of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Hugo Ekitike-- Liverpool coach said he expected his team to face stiff competition in an effort to defend the title.

According to ESPN, the Reds have opened talks with Crystal Palace to recruit captain Marc Guehi although Arne Slot declined to comment on reports linking Liverpool to the player.

"The other (Guehi) is the answer you always get from me. He's not our player and unfortunately he's the team captain who beat us (at Community Shield)."
