Regarding Arsenal Tikung Tottenham, Thomas Frank: We Don't Want Players Who Don't Want Us

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank said he didn't want players who didn't want to be at the club and wear fantastic badges after his team failed to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.

Initially, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, Spurs were confident they could finalize a deal for the English after reaching an agreement with Crystal Palace and personal terms with Eze.

However, in the middle of the road, Arsenal then intervened to agree to an agreement worth up to 67.5 million pounds.

Eze is an Arsenal fan since childhood and was previously considered open to joining when the Gunners first expressed interest.

"To make it clear, I don't want players who don't want to come to the club. If they don't want to come to the club and wear this fantastic logo, then we don't want them here."

"I'm sure the fans will feel the same way. If they don't want to wear this fantastic uniform, play for the logo, play for the club, really enjoy it, no problem."

"So (we) don't want them. I think that's the key message," said Thomas Frank on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Frank also left no questions about Richarlison's future amid last week's report that he was considered in a potential exchange deal for Eze.

"Right now he's the starter, my 9th. He scored two great goals. Richy wants to stay, I want to keep him and there's no talk about anything else," Frank said.

After failing to secure Eze and Morgan Gibbs-White, who signed a contract extension at Wolverhampton Wanderers, early last summer, Frank said Spurs were still doing everything they could to strengthen the squad by closing the transfer window on September 1, 2025.

"I've said it many times, I'll say it again, the club is working really hard to see if we can strengthen the squad."

"We just want to strengthen the squad with players that we think are good enough. That's what we've been doing from the start and that's what we're constantly doing," Frank said.
