JAKARTA A total of 15 countries have registered to participate in the 2025 Martial World Championships for Youth and Junior 2025, entitled Youth and Junior World Sambo Championship 2025 which will take place in Indonesia.
The International Sambo Federation (FIAS) officially opened participant registrations through their official website on Monday, August 18, 2025.
"It has only been five days since FIAS opened registration, 15 countries have confirmed their presence. This number will certainly increase because our target is to penetrate 60 countries," said Deputy Secretary General of PP Persambi, Muhamad Riyad.
Countries that have registered so far are Russia, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, Mexico, Turkmenistan, Moldova, South Korea, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Bulgaria, and Japan.

From the countries that have registered, Russia has sent the most delegates, namely 55. In second place there is Turkmenistan with 24 delegates, Mexico with 12 delegates, and Azarbeijan with 10 delegates.
Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Sambo Indonesia Martial Arts Association (PP Persambi), Krisna Bayu, and the organizing committee previously held an audience with the Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sergei Tolchenov, regarding the preparations for this event.
The Venue Manager of Youth and Junior World Sambo Championship 2025, Arnold Silalahi, said that they now only need support from the Government to make this important event a success.
"We are just waiting for the audience schedule with Menpora Dito Ariotedjo. Hopefully, it will be received soon so that we can report the extent of the committee's preparation," he said.
Youth and Junior World Sambo Championship 2025, which competes 37 classes for sports and combat numbers, will take place at JSI Resort Megamendung, Ciawi, Bogor, West Java, on October 1-6, 2025.
PP Persambi previously held a National Championship (Kejurnas) to attract Indonesian athletes for the event. A total of 37 athletes were summoned to the national training camp (pelatnas).
