JAKARTA – Indonesian volleyball star Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi has officially passed her medical with her new club Manisa Buyuksehir Belediyespor Kulubu (Manisa BBSK).

Megawati is ready to start a new chapter with the Turkish club by undergoing a medical on Monday, August 18, 2025, a day after she arrived in Manisa with her husband, Dio Novendra.

The club confirmed in a post on its official Instagram account that Megawati's medical took place at the Metropolitan Private Hospital in Manisa.

"Our player Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi began her studies by passing a medical examination at the Metropol Private Hospital today," Manisa wrote on Instagram.

The player, nicknamed Megatron, is a new addition to Manisa BBSK, a team promoted to the Kadiniar 1 Ligi, the second tier of the Turkish volleyball league.

Passing the medical automatically makes Megawati Hangestri even more confident about joining Manisa BBSK. The Jember native now awaits her debut with her new team.

"We would like to thank the Private Metropolitan Hospital for their support," read a further statement from Manisa BBSK.

Megawati arrived in Turkey with a string of impressive achievements. She previously played for the South Korean club, the Red Sparks, for two consecutive seasons.

In both seasons, she helped the team reach the final. Unfortunately, they were denied the championship after losing their final match to the Pink Spiders.

In the best-of-five final, the Red Sparks were forced to come from two games down to tie the score. However, they suffered a dramatic defeat in the deciding match.

Megawati then joined Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia in the 2025 Proliga Final Four, but due to her limited recovery, she only played a few games and failed to help the team reach the Grand Final.
