JAKARTA The Indonesian U-21 Men's Volleyball National Team will face the 2025 U-21 Volleyball World Championship or the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men's U-21 World Championship which will take place this week.

The tournament will be held on August 21-31, 2025 in Jiangmen, China. In total there are 24 countries from five confederations appearing there, including the Indonesian youth squad.

Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PP PBVSI), Imam Sudjarwo, said that Indonesia's preparations were ripe and 100 percent ready to appear.

"The preparations have been quite long, before they participated in the Proliga twice, then appeared at the U-20 Asian Championships in Surabaya and won fourth place in Asia. After that, it was also continued with a fairly long training camp (TC)," he said.

Imam emphasized that from a technical, tactical, strategy to physical perspective, the players were already in a combat-ready condition.

In addition, PBVSI also emphasizes the mental development and integrity of players so that they remain enthusiastic and never give up in order to defend the country.

"From the whole thing, they are ready. Hopefully they can play totally and perform well," said Imam.

The Indonesian U-21 Men's Volleyball Team is expected to exceed the achievements of the U-21 women's team, which previously only ranked 16th at the U-21 Women's Volleyball World Championship in Surabaya, which was completed last weekend.

"The initial target is of course to be able to pass the group or at least the top four. After that it is in the top 16, then compete again. Thank God if it can improve the ranking up to 12 or the top 10," said Imam.

Indonesia is in Group D with Italy, Argentina, France, Ukraine, and Tunisia. On paper, Indonesia's journey will not be easy.

To reach the round of 16, Indonesia can at least win in two matches in the group stage. Indonesia consecutively against Italy, Tunia, Ukriana, Argentina, and France.
