Benjamin Sesko Has Many References On How To Become A Manchester United Striker

JAKARTA - Manchester United's latest signing, Benjamin Sesko, said he hopes to imitate his idol, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, during his career at Old Trafford.

The Slovenian National Team (Timnas) player completed his move to Old Trafford from RB Leipzig last weekend for a transfer fee of 85 million pounds.

Once officially in the Red Devils uniform, Sesko immediately presented his intention to imitate Ibrahimovic - who spent nearly two years at Old Trafford scoring 29 goals and 10 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions.

"Since I was little, I've always watched it. Every YouTube video I've found, he's amazing to me."

"We don't really have the same character, but I like to see the way he plays, the way he enjoys football, how everything goes."

"It was my dream to meet him one day, it would be great. So, in general, he's my idol."

"We have a different style of play, but if there is a certain situation, I try to do the same as he did," Sesko told MUTV.

Not only Ibrahimovic, Sesko - who scored 21 goals in 45 appearances for Leipzig in all 2024/2025 season events - also had other references for being a Manchester United striker.

He also expressed his admiration for previous Manchester United strikers, especially Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney.

"Van Persie and Rooney, all the players like that. I also watched them, of course, in the video. They were great."

"You can really admire them. I will also try to show myself well here and try to help the team to achieve the highest possible achievement," said Sesko.

Manchester United are experiencing their worst season in the Premier League era for the 2024/2025 season by finishing in 15th place.

However, Sesko believes the good times will come when he joins his new colleagues in the summer, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

"For me, this team is great, the longer the better. I think it's a great project in general and I can't wait to get started, of course."

"Together we can develop rapidly. This can give us a lot of new power, new energy, and I think this will be fun in general."
