Gregoria Still Has A Target At The 2025 World Championships

Gregoria Mariska Tunjung doesn't want to just ride through the 2025 BWF World Championships (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The women's singles badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung still has a target at the 2025 BWF World Championships (BWF World Championships) this month even though she is not yet in her best performance.

The 2025 BWF World Championship is scheduled to take place on August 25-31, 2025 at Adidas Arena, Paris, France. This is Gregoria's third event after being absent due to health problems.

"Still have a target and have motivation because this is one of the tournaments that have been waiting for," said Gregoria at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center.

The 25-year-old badminton player was sidelined for approximately two months after appearing at the 2025 Badminton Asia Championship (BAC) in April 2025 due to vertigo.

He then returned to the tournament in Japan and China Open 2025 in July 2025. In a row, he was eliminated in the first and quarter-finals in both events.

"I may not have any expectations at the World Championships, but will try more. If you say you know mentally, yes. Because yesterday when I was sick I couldn't do anything," said the athlete who is familiarly called Jorji.

In the current temporary list, Indonesia has a total of 12 representatives who will appear at the 2025 World Championships. That includes Alwi Farhan who qualified after Viktor Axelsen resigned.

From the women's singles sector, Gregoria will be accompanied by Putri Kusuma Wardani. Putri also previously appeared in Japan and the 2025 China Open, with successive results in the quarter-finals and first round.
