Duel Negotiations Anthony Joshua And Jake Paul Begin To Be Carried Out

JAKARTA Negotiations discussing the possibility of clashes between former two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua, against Jake Paul -- YouTube celebrity and boxer -- are starting.

Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter throughout his fighter career, said the chances of the clash were 50:50 after he recently spoke with Jake Paul's manager, Nakisa Bidarian, by telephone.

"I chatted with Nakisa for a long time for about an hour on July 30, 2025. Now, I'm sure they want that fight," Hearn was quoted as saying by Ring Magazine.

Since starting his career as a boxer, Jake Paul has been noted to have mentioned several big names he wants to fight. One of them is Canelo Alvarez, a 35-year-old boxer from Mexico.

However, recently Paul began to think of targeting Joshua, former world champion and gold medalist at the 2012 Olympics, who has a record knockout victory over Wladimir Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin, and Kubrat Pulev.

"The conversation with Nakisa is very positive. We hope it will continue over the coming weeks. If they really want it, it will happen," Hearn said.

Paul - the 28-year-old boxer - took action in June 2025 when he won an absolute number victory over former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Previously, he also managed to beat boxing legend Mike Tyson who was 59 years old. The clash has drawn a lot of controversy due to age differences between the two names.

Meanwhile, Joshua has been out of competition since he was beaten by a knockout by Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in September 2024, in his bid to become a third heavyweight world champion.
