The Governor of North Sumatra (North Sumatra) Bobby Nasution confirmed that the North Sumatra Main Stadium in Deli Serdang Regency is ready to be used as a home by PSMS Medan in the 2025-2026 Indonesian League 2 competition season.

"We provide full support for PSMS Medan," said Bobby while reviewing the condition of the stadium, Sunday, July 27, quoted from Antara. He was accompanied by the Head of the North Sumatra Youth and Sports Service, Mahfullah Daulay.

The governor said that the stadium with a capacity of 25,750 spectators had met national and international standards, and would be used starting September 2025.

"The field and stadium facilities are visually good and according to FIFA standards. This is important because the stadium will be used for two things: the official PSSI event and the PSMS Medan home throughout the season," said Bobby.

Governor Bobby took the time to inspect almost all stadium areas, starting from the players' alleys, changing rooms, technical meetings rooms, toilets, spectator seats, to VIP rooms and grass conditions.

He also invited the public, especially PSMS Medan supporters, to jointly maintain stadium facilities so that they remain representative.

"The growth of supporters is one of the important indicators for the successful implementation of football events in North Sumatra. So we hope this stadium is jointly guarded," he said.

According to Bobby, if there are no obstacles, this stadium will hold an official PSSI event next month on an international scale, before being used by PSMS Medan as the host in the League 2 competition.

Meanwhile, member of the Exco PSSI Arya Sinulingga said the stadium had undergone many improvements in recent months.

"This stadium is widely praised for being good. In the last few months we have continued to improve, and the Governor has helped a lot," he said.

President Director of PT Kinantan Medan Indonesia (KMI), Arifuddin Maulana, expressed his gratitude for the full support of the North Sumatra Provincial Government for the club pride of the people of Medan.

"This is a very extraordinary support. We are very grateful. We will protect this mandate and we will try our best to give our best," said Arifuddin.
