Winning 2 Direct Games, Fajar/Fikri Make Malaysia Go Home Without A Title At The 2025 China Open

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, won the title in the 2025 China Open badminton tournament. The Red and White pair won two straight games over Malaysia's representative, Aaron Chia/Wooi Yok Soh, with a score of 21-15, 21-14.

The final match will be held at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou, China, on Sunday, July 27.

Fajar/Fikri appeared dominant from the start of the first game. They immediately led 5-1 after utilizing short balls in front of the net. The advantage continues to be widened to 11-2 at intervals.

After the break, the Malaysian pair tried to get up and reduce the gap to 8-13. Some of the mistakes themselves from Fajar/Fikri even had time to reduce the score to 13-16.

However, the successful challenge from Fajar/Fikri over the ball fell behind the opponent's field giving momentum to the Indonesian pair. They closed the first game with a score of 21-15.

In the second game, Fajar/Fikri continued to appear solid. The fast drive in front of the net was won by representatives of Indonesia who immediately took the 4-1 lead. The advantage continued until 11-6 in the interval after the opponent's blow caught in the net.

Fikri played the net carefully and Fajar perfected it with a hard smash that put them ahead 19-9. Despite losing focus and losing three consecutive points, Fajar/Fikri immediately returned to their best game and sealed the victory with a score of 21-14.

This victory ensures that the title of the China Open 2025 will belong to Fajar/Fikri, as well as become their prestigious title this year.
