Ekitike Has Arrived At Liverpool To Undergo Medical Tests

JAKARTA - Hugo Ekitike is reported to have arrived at Liverpool for a medical test after an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt was reached on Monday, July 21, 2025.

This was conveyed by European football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, in an upload on Instagram on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, WIB night.

"Hugo Ekitike has arrived at Liverpool with a transfer of 95 million euros! This is Hugo and his agent, Karl Mwalako, ahead of today's first medical test, signing a six-year contract," wrote Romano, accompanying Ekitike's photo upload arriving at Liverpool.

Liverpool had to spend around Rp1.8 trillion for the French striker.

Moving to Anfield is something Ekitike has wanted for a long time. No wonder, he wants to tie long cooperation with the Reds.

Before deciding to accept Liverpool's proposal, Ekitike was already linked to Newcastle United and Manchester United.

However, only Newcastle United took a serious approach. The Magpies have even submitted a proposal of 64.5 million pounds or around IDR 1.4 trillion. However, Frankfurt rejected the dowry last week.

Ekitike has spoken with Liverpool's manager, Arne Slot, who detailed his vision for him as the number 9 player in his team.

This move came after he scored 15 goals in 33 games for Frankfurt in the 2024/2025 Bundesliga season.

Ekitike joined Frankfurt in February 2024 from Paris Saint-Germain, which will receive 20 percent (13.8 million) of its transfer fee this summer.

He has yet to make his international debut for the French National Team, but he believes joining Liverpool and playing in the Premier League could allow him to penetrate Les Bleus ahead of the 2026 World Cup next summer.

Meanwhile, an approach to Ekitike could not be separated from Newcastle's rejection of Liverpool's assessment of striker Alexander Isak.
