JAKARTA Jannik Sinner came out as the 2025 Wimbledon champion after in the final round he stopped his rival, Carlos Alcaraz, to become the first Italian to win the tournament.

The tennis player who is ranked first in the world has secured the first Wimbledon trophy in his career after rising from behind to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, and 6-4 on Monday, July 14, 2025.

"It's very difficult to play against you (Carlos Alcaraz), but we have an amazing relationship on the outside and on the pitch. Go ahead, keep fighting," said Sinner, quoted by Reuters.

This victory avenge his defeat to the Spaniard in the final match of Roland Garros 2025 last month. In addition, this achievement also broke Alcaraz's dominance in this grass field Grand Slam.

Alcaraz was recorded as the second consecutive edition champion before losing this year. All of his two wins were won against former world number one from Serbia, Novak Djokovic.

"Only me and my closest people know exactly what we've been through. Sharing this moment with my whole family here is the most amazing thing," said Sinner.

This is the fourth Grand Slam title in Sinner's career. He got three other titles at the US Open 2024 and Australian Open 2024 and 2025.
