Jonathan David Agrees To Sign Contract With Juventus

Juventus will soon inaugurate the arrival of Jonathan David (Instagram/@jodavid).

JAKARTA - Juventus have agreed to a deal to sign Canadian international Jonathan David on a free transfer from Lille.

ESPN reported the striker reached a financial agreement with Juventus after they lost their 0-1 to Real Madrid in the last 16 of the 2025 Club World Cup.

David is now expected to leave for Italy in the next few hours to undergo a medical examination and sign his contract.

Juventus has long wanted David and has been chasing before when Cristiano Giuntoli became Director of Sports.

Even though they have brought in Damien Comolli and Giorgio Chiellini, interest in David remains.

The 25-year-old arrived as a free agent after not renewing his contract with Lille.

With the Canadian National Team, David has scored 34 goals in 63 appearances. He joins Juventus as an important player, ready to be available to Manager Igor Tudor soon.

Juventus' decision to speed up and close the deal for David has further distanced Dusan Vlahovic from the squad as his departure from Serie A is almost certain.

Meanwhile, Lille has confirmed the recruitment of the French National Team's all-time leading goalscorer, Olivier Giroud.

The former Arsenal signed a one-year contract, marking a sensational return to Ligue 1 or 13 years after he last played in the French league.

The 38-year-old striker, who scored 57 goals in 137 appearances for Les Bleus, joined MLS club LAFC.
