JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo emphasized the government's commitment to providing full support for the sport of takraw, especially in the face of the 2025 SEA Games and the 2026 Asian Games.

This statement was made by Dito while attending the closing of the National Selection for the Menpora Cup Takraw at the GBK Arena, Jakarta, Thursday, June 26. On that occasion, the Minister of Youth and Sports also handed over medals to the champions and gave appreciation for the ability and high fighting spirit of the young athletes who appeared in the selection.
In the national selection, the South Sulawesi B team won in the men's doubles, while the Central Java A team won in the men's team number. Both of them appeared impressive and managed to outperform tough opponents from various regions in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Deputy for Sports Achievement Improvement at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Surono, explained that this national selection is an important part of the athlete selection process to form the Indonesian Takraw National Team which will compete in international multi-branch events.
