To Be Able To Comeback In MotoGP 2025, Jorge Martin Is Still Waiting For A Doctor's Permission

JAKARTA - Aprilia racer, Jorge Martin, is determined to be able to make a comeback in MotoGP 2025 after undergoing an injury recovery period. However, his wish is still uncertain because he has to wait for the doctor's permission.

Throughout the 2025 season, the Spaniard was mostly sidelined due to a series of injury cases. He appeared in the pre-season test at the Sepang Circuit and raced in the Qatar MotoGP.

However, unfortunately the defending MotoGP champion again suffered an accident that resulted in a fracture in several of his ribs. This situation means he had to pull over for a long time.

Later, Martin's signs of a comeback were seen when he was present at the event at the Misano Circuit, early June 2025. During the event, he had time to ride a Aprilia motorcycle.

Regarding Martin's return to racing, Aprilia Sports Director Paolo Bonora, while at the Italian MotoGP 2025 last weekend explained the situation. He said Martin was just waiting for the doctor's permission to return to the track.

"We are waiting for the doctor to declare Jorge healthy. After that happens, and thanks to the regulatory changes we propose ourselves, we will be able to hold a trial day," Bonora said as quoted by Motorsport on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Aprilia has had three trial sessions from the middle of this year until the end of the season. Starting from 30-31 July and 11-12 August 2025 at the Catalunya Circuit, as well as 29-30 October 2025 at Jerez.

Meanwhile, with Aprilia's new regulation, Martin reportedly has a chance of undergoing a motorcycle test in the second week of July 2025. Martin is predicted to undergo a test at the Misano Circuit on July 8 or 9, 2025.

"As I said, we will take advantage of the new regulations that we propose and prepare special trials for one day so that Jorge can return to riding a motorcycle before returning to racing."

"Once we get the green light from dr. Charte, we will look for a date," said Bonora.

If the plan goes well, Jorge Martin has a great opportunity to make a comeback at the 2025 Republican MotoGP at the Brno Circuit, 18-20 July 2025, not the 2025 German MotoGP which was held earlier.

The reason is quite clear. The German MotoGP is considered a less ideal location for Martin to make a comeback after a long injury.

This is because the races held at the Sachsenring Circuit have a tight braking zone and a narrow and winding layout.
