Benfica topped the final standings of Group C of the 2025 Club World Cup after beating Bayern Munich with a score of 1-0 at the Bank of America Stadium, Charlottte, Wednesday morning WIB.

"In this match Benfica's victory over Bayern Munich came thanks to Andreas Schjelderup's only goal when the game was running for 13 minutes," FIFA noted as reported by Antara.

Thanks to this victory, Benfica moved up to first place in the final standings of Group C of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup with seven points from three matches, one point ahead of Bayern Munich in second place.

Furthermore, in the round of 16, Benfica will face second-placed Group D between Chelsea and ES Tunis, while Chelsea will certainly meet Group D champions Flamengo.

Statistically Bayern Munich actually took the lead in this match with 73 percent possession and fired 13 of them on target, but Benfica was able to perform more clinically.

Bayern took the initiative to attack first in this match, but Benfica took the lead through Andreas Schjelderup's goal after maximizing the bait from Gianluca Prestiani so that the score changed to 1-0 in the 13th minute.
