Italian MotoGP Sprint Race Results 2025: Marquez Brothers Control Mugello, Third Bagnaia

JAKARTA Marc Marquez has again proven his status as king of the 2025 MotoGP sprint race. The Ducati Lenovo racer managed to come out as the winner of the 2025 Italian MotoGP Sprint Race at the Mugello Circuit, Saturday, June 21 Indonesian time.

This victory adds Marc Marquez's collection of sprint race trophies to eight wins from nine sprint races throughout the 2025 season. Previously, he started from pole position after breaking the Mugello lap record with a record of 1 minute 44.169 seconds in the second qualifying session (Q2), as well as being the 100th pole position throughout his career a record that made him the first racer since 1971 to reach this fantastic figure.

The sprint race, which was held in a hot track condition, broke through 50 degrees Celsius and the air temperature was 31 degrees Celsius, which had presented a drama since the first corner.

Marc Marquez actually had difficulties just before the start and had to adjust the setup of the motorbike. As a result, MM93 immediately fell to sixth position after passing through the first corner. It didn't take long for Marquez to immediately rush Ducati Desmosedici to catch up. He managed to overtake one by one the riders in front of him until he stuck tight to his younger brother, Alex Marquez, who had led the race in the early stages.

"It was a great show and a great race, but this is not the main target, the main target is not to lose points in this race," said Marquez.

The drama of determining the leading position also occurred on the start-finish straight track and the San Donato corner, where Marc successfully overtook Alex and widened the distance to 0.7 seconds on the sixth lap from a total of 11 laps.

Behind them, Pecco Bagnaia, a Mugello specialist who has won three times at this circuit, was involved in a fierce duel with Maverick Vinales. Bagnaia was finally able to maintain third place even though Vinales tried to overtake several times.

"I'm a bit disappointed, because a lot of people expect me to win here," Bagnaia said, after the Sprint Race.

Fabio Quartararo experienced a different fate. Starting from the fourth position, this Yamaha racer did not find the right rhythm of the race and continued to decline until he finished in 10th position. The condition of the hot track and the uncompetitive performance of Yamaha in Mugello again became a stumbling block for El Diablo.
