JAKARTA The Indonesian Boxing Executive Board (Perbati) has officially become a member of World Boxing. This decision allows Indonesia to now send athletes to every World Championship under World Boxing.

Perbati is one of five new members approved by the World Boxing Executive Board alongside Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Romania, and Tokyo and Tobago.

"We are very pleased to welcome the five new national federations into our growing membership," Boris van der Vorst, President of World Boxing, said in a statement received.

The addition of five new members has made the total number of World Boxing members currently reach 111 countries.

Countries that have met the requirements to become members will take part in the inaugural World Boxing Championships in September 2025, the World Boxing Cup Finals, and Congress III in November 2025.

"This is additional evidence of World Boxing's positive momentum ahead of various important milestones in the journey of this organization," Boris said.

The entry of Perbati as a member of the World Boxing is part of a strategic step taken by NOC Indonesia so that Indonesia remains in the world boxing community and environment.

The Executive Committee of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, Josephine Tampubolon, said the General Chair of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia), Raja Sapta Oktohari, emphasized that every step taken was based on the interests of the Red and White.

"The steps taken by the General Chairperson of NOC Indonesia are nothing but to maintain the existence of Red-White in the world," said Josephine.

World Boxing is an international boxing federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). All members of this agency are allowed to appear in the Olympics.
