Beat Thailand, Bintang/Sofyan Win Khanh Hoa Cup 2025

The Indonesian beach volleyball pair, Bintang Akbar/Sofyan Rachman Efendi, successfully won the 2025 Sanvinest Khanh Hoa Cup title which took place in Vietnam (doc. PBVSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian beach volleyball pair, Bintang Akbar/Sofyan Rachman Efendi, successfully won the 2025 Sanvinest Khanh Hoa Cup title which took place in Vietnam.

They climbed the tournament's highest podium after defeating Thailand's representative, Kaewsai Dunwinit/Nakprakhong Banlue, on Monday, June 9, 2025.

"This result is indeed in accordance with our target. The teams competing here are those who will also appear at the 2025 SEA Games," said Head of the PBVSI PP Beach Volleyball Section, Slamet Mulyanto.

In the final match, Bintang/Sofyan won convincingly over their opponents two straight sets with a final score of 21-11 and 21-18.

This victory confirmed the dominance of the Indonesian men's beach volleyball team in the annual event which was attended by Southeast Asian and East Asian countries.

Impressive appearance was shown by the Red-White pair from the start of the match. They appear aggressive in the first set with a fast game pattern and solid defense coordination.

Stars/Sofyan remain able to maintain their advantage until the end of the match even though Thailand had given resistance in the second set.

As for the women's category, Indonesia has to settle for being runners-up after the Desi Ratnasari/Nur Atika Sari pair lost to Nguyen's representative Le Thi Tuong Vy/Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram.

Desi/Atika actually started the match well and managed to secure the first set. However, they finally gave up with a score of 1-2 (21-17, 11-21, and 12-15).

The Sanvinest Khanh Hoa Cup 2025 is an important warm-up event for the Indonesian team before facing other international championships, including the 2025 Asian Championships and SEA Games qualifiers.
