Inter Milan Become Underdog In Champions League Final Against PSG

JAKARTA - Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi said his team had to suffer against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. However, he emphasized that the Nerazzurri were able to beat Luis Enrique's team in Munich on Sunday, June 1, 2025, early morning WIB.

Inter Milan will play their second Champions League final in three seasons after losing to Manchester City in Istanbul in 2023.

The Nerrazzurri also aims to win the fourth European crown after last winning the tournament under Jose Mourinho in 2010.

Despite getting rid of Bayern Munich and Barcelona on their way to the final, Inter Milan are entering the game as underdogs as PSG are considered favorites to win their first Champions League.

Inzaghi also admitted that PSG was a tough opponent. Even so, he was not afraid. He emphasized that his troops could beat the French champion.

"We have to face Paris Saint-Germain by realizing there will be times when we will suffer. There are also other moments when we will have the ball and they have to defend," said Inzaghi.

"Detail and moments are key. We have to play with passion and determination to win the game. PSG is a very strong team, but we will play with our strengths."

"We've had a very difficult time so far, facing (Manchester) City, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona. We've made it this far. We don't want to stop here."

"Together with Inter Milan, it's always been a big game, but when it was the final, it was different."

"We deserve to be here, since our first game at Manchester City headquarters, but we are one step away."

"We know how important this match is. Winning and losing makes all the difference in the world."

"We've won and lost in Serie A. So, as a player and I as a coach, we've gone through everything. However, our job is to make supporters smile broadly. All of Curva Nord will support us," said Inzaghi.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi further entered the match with speculation about his future as a coach due to interest from the Saudi Arabian Pro-League team, Al Hilal.

Although his contract remains for one year at Giuseppe Meazza, Inzaghi does not provide guarantees regarding his future at the club. He said he would discuss it with Inter Milan officials next week.

"Regarding my future, tomorrow is the Champions League final. Senior leaders are here, but we will chat next week casually. We will always put Inter Milan's best interests first," said Inzaghi.
