Resigning From PSBS Biak, Owen Rahadian Returns Team Ownership To Society

JAKARTA - PSBS Biak completed Liga 1 2024/2025 by entering the top 10 of the standings.

But in the midst of this pretty good result, the team nicknamed the Pacific Storm was left by Owen Rahadian from the highest shareholder position.

Owen Rahadian officially declared his resignation from PSBS Biak ownership along with the completion of the 2024/2025 Liga 1 season competition.

Under his hands, PSBS Biak made history with promotions and staying in the highest competition for the first time.

Although this season is his last moment with the club, he is proud of the club's achievements so far being able to survive in the competition's highest caste.

"I am very proud of this team. This is the first time PSBS Biak has entered League 1 and we managed to finish in the top 10. That's an extraordinary achievement and I am very happy with all the team's efforts," said Owen Rahadian in a written statement received on Sunday, May 25.

On the other hand, Owen did not deny that internal dynamics and differences of views between shareholders and management were things that made him feel the need to take steps back.

He also returned this club to the Biak community.

"I think next season I'd better take a break. We have spoken with Mr. Yan and Mr. Jimmy, and agreed to return share ownership to the old holders, namely the Biak people represented by the Regent and Deputy Regent," he said.

Even though he had decided to withdraw, Owen emphasized that he would not leave the club completely.

"PSBS Biak will always be a part of me, but for management matters, it's not my domain anymore. I hope the new management can immediately draw up a plan because the time to go next season is very narrow," added Owen.

In addition, his company Nusa Tuna will continue to provide financial support to the club, including the special budget for next season.

"I'm still ready to support from the sponsorship side. But from the management side, it's not my domain anymore. We're stepping down for the good of the club," concluded Owen.

Owen has also signed a share release document with Jimmy, and is now just waiting for the final step from Yan Mandenas.

"We have agreed to return the shares to the old owner. Mr. Jimmy and I have signed, now we are just waiting for Mr. Yan to finish the process. The time is very narrow, because the preparation for the new season starts at the end of June," he explained.
