Manny Pacquiao Aims For A Duel Against Mario Barrios Jr

JAKARTA Terkenal boxer from the Philippines Manny Pacquiao is certain to be aiming for a fight against Mario Barrios Jr in July to fight for the WBC welterweight world title.

Sean Gibbons, who served as an advisor to the boxer, confirmed the possibility.

He hosted Pacquiao still in shape even though he is now 46 years old.

"That fight is likely to happen. Manny is Georgemanner, Archie Moore, and Bernard Hopkins in modern times. He takes very much care of himself, lives a clean life, and will be ready for this duel," he was quoted as saying by Boxing Scene.

According to the report, Manny Pacquiao is targeting this fight to take place on July 19, 2025.

The eight-division champion with a record 62-8-2 (39 KOs) will return to the ring at the age of 46.

Pacquiao last fought in the summer of 2021 against Yordenis Ugas from Cuba.

The duel for the welterweight title was won by Ugas through an absolute decision.

Previously, the boxer nicknamed Pacman had considered meeting Barrios 29-2-1 (18), but to no avail.

Barrios, 29, last fought in November.

At that time he almost held his belt against Abel Ramos on Jake Paul-Mike Tyson's undercard card.

Before boarding the ring against Mario Barrios Jr., Pacquiao also plans to return to the political stage by nominating himself to be a member of the Philippine senate.
